Central & Northern Vancouver Island Marine Fuelling Supply Report (2009/10) - Mr. Darryl Anderson, Managing Director Wave Point Consulting, led a study of marine fuelling. Team members included Phil Davies as a senior consultant. The purpose of the study is the evaluation of marine fuelling supply chain options in the geographic areas of Central and Northern Vancouver Island. The Wave Point Consulting Ltd. team interviewed major suppliers of marine fuel at coastal harbours to identify and profile existing company, franchise or independent operations, gather information on past service reductions and future plans, and identify economic regulatory and environmental issues affecting fuel suppliers to marine consumers. The information collected by direct personal contact is being supplemented by secondary data sources from industry fuel suppliers, trade media and other public data sources such as coastal community contacts, fuelling distributors and others to identify the target list of marine fuel facilities. Direct telephone calls, electronic communications or in person interviews are being used to contact some marine fuelling facility operators to very data and gather information on local issues. Client value-added: a more complete understanding of marine fuelling options so that potential supply chains solutions can address both customers needs and minimize the liability of the Harbour Authorities and the Crown.
